At our school, we are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. One of the key ways we achieve this is through our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program. This proactive approach promotes positive behaviour across the entire school community, shaping the way students, staff, and leadership interact and support one another.
Our SWPBS framework is built on four core principles: Determination, Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience. These values guide our behavioural expectations and create a culture of respect and cooperation in all aspects of school life—from the classroom to the playground and beyond.
To reinforce positive behaviour, we use reward charts that encourage students to meet and exceed our expectations. Students can earn red, green, or yellow charts for demonstrating positive actions. These charts are not only a way to acknowledge their efforts but also give them access to fun and meaningful rewards, such as free dress days, having lunch with a staff member, or enjoying an icy pole—rewards that are chosen by the students themselves.
We are proud to have achieved the SWPBS Silver accreditation, reflecting our ongoing commitment to excellence in behaviour management. Our Wellbeing Leader, Ms. Melina Couper, and Wellbeing Teacher, Mrs. Bianca Caruana, lead the way in monitoring progress and ensuring our students are consistently supported in their growth. Together, they oversee our program of accreditation and continuous improvement, making sure our school remains a positive and nurturing environment for everyone.
Through our SWPBS program, we are helping students develop the life skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom, while building a school culture that values determination, respect, responsibility, and resilience.
