Auslan

At our school, we believe in providing every student with the opportunity to expand their communication skills and embrace inclusivity. One of the ways we achieve this is through our Auslan (Australian Sign Language) program, which is offered to all students as part of our specialist curriculum.

In this dedicated class, students learn the basics of Auslan, a rich and expressive visual language used by the Australian Deaf community. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, children are taught a range of signs, from everyday vocabulary to more complex phrases, allowing them to communicate using hand gestures, facial expressions, and body language..

We believe learning Auslan is more than just acquiring a new language. It’s an opportunity to foster empathy, understanding, and inclusiveness, as students connect with a vital part of Australia’s diverse cultural landscape. It’s also a skill that encourages teamwork, focus, and non-verbal communication, enriching students’ overall learning experience.

Our school is proud to offer this engaging program to every student, giving them a unique chance to broaden their horizons and build lifelong skills. By learning Auslan, our students are not only gaining a new form of communication but also learning the importance of inclusion and respect in a diverse world.
